Shellharbour Village Rotary Market 25th November 2012

Sunday 25th November 2012 was spent at the Shellharbour Village Rotary Market this was a small very well run market along the beach front so my children had the time of their life in the water and wandering down with my husband to the pool.

There was music playing from a fixed gazebo in the middle of the market and during the day local dancers showcased their talent.  The market is a credit to the local Rotary club as it has only been running for 12months and had the feel of a well established market it is very much along the lines of Kiama Seaside just not the size.

This is definately one I would like to do again and one to visit for a great day out.

The Coastal Crafts Handmade Market

Saturday we were at The Coastal Crafts Handmade Market which was a small market held at a church in Albian Park Rail.  The church is in an industrial area just off the Princes Highway so very easy to get to.

I ran into Sasha from Intsywintsy Photography the large portrait in the photo below is nothing like the real photo she had on display, this child’s eyes were so hauntingly beautiful and I can understand how Sasha captured that moment.  She is a mother herself and had her son with her while at the market her other photos were also beautiful and I spent a long time admiring them..

As I chatted to Sasha she told me about her other hobby crocheting which was actually what attracted me to her stand initially.  My grandmother taught me to crochet (nothing like hers I might add!) and I have my great grandmother crocheting book so I am instantly attracted to anything crocheted not many people at markets actually do their own work and get their work as beautiful as hers.  Sasha's work is so fine and detailed she made the arm bands in the photo below, if you head over to her and her husbands facebook page to check out their photography, you will see other examples of her crocheting in the many photos displayed there.

I can definitely recommend her for both her crocheting if you want a gift that is handmade but  something individual and her photography so beautifully different!

You can email her on intsywintsy@yahoo.com.au

William Carey Christian School's fun fair Saturday 17th September 2012

This time of year gets very hectic with markets and fairs, this weekend was no exception.

Double booked, so there was nothing else to do but call on favours to fill my workforce at two venues.  Mum and my cousin Lisa were top of the list and quickly replied with a YES!

Thursday I dropped my gazebo, stock, brochures and anything else I thought they would need off to mum.  They arrived Saturday at William Carey Christian school and set up after finding the fair well organised and very easy to find their spot.

Right next door to our stand was Antonia from Faith Insignias who is an Authorised Consultant.  I went to school with Antonia from Kindergarten all the way to year 10.  Faith Insignias specialises in inspirational jewellery with their modern designs and beautiful little messages.  A great little gift.

Mum did quite a lot of shopping and left Lisa to handle the Gametag stand alone which of course she did and is an old hand at it.  Lisa has accompanied me on many occasions, I am truly grateful that each time I call her she accommodates me.  Lisa often begs for the "sack" but I think you have to be paid to get the "sack" LOL! we actually love working together.  Thank you again Lisa, A MILLION!

Bathurst Designer Events Biggest Expo 17-18th November 2012

Up at 4.30 am with all the kids and on the road by 5am to be in Bathurst for the Designer Events Bathurst show Saturday and Sunday.

Outside our house on the driveway at 5am
The drive was relaxing, I love being out in the country, it was a beautiful morning so clear, clean and an easy drive to Bathurst.  We have relatives in Lithgow and I love the drive down Mount Victoria it is steep and dangerous the local council have being widening the road trying to make it safer, it is still steep though.  As you descend you look out over the valley towards Lithgow it's just so beautiful we would have stopped to take a photo but there is just nowhere to safely stop.

the road just outside Bathurst

A quick photo stop at about 7.30am on the way into Bathurst breakie at Maca's then onto the show to set up.
